Chasing the Wind

The air as it warms like a temper is tempted to rise
And it climbs til it meets the cool air as it pours from the night
Neither desiring to change nor be changed
They collide and they will not rescind
And I'll spend the rest of my days alive chasing the wind

Everyone that you know is going to die
And none of your planning or saving will buy enough time
All of your toils, your studies, your loyalties
Will turn to dust in the end
So I'll spend the rest of my days alive chasing the wind

When I was a child I would pine for acceptance from you
But now that I'm grown I am proud not to do like you do
And while I have time I will search deep inside and I'll thrive on the answers within
And I'll spend the rest of my days alive chasing the wind
